"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one"

Welcome to the world of a dreamer...a person who is heavily influenced by music, a person who loves looking at things with a simplistic outlook. I am a big fan of The Beatles.

About Me

My photo
I am a dreamer, procrastinator, last-minute worker. Music is my passion--I am an obsessive music collector. Often I collect gigabytes of music only with the hope to listen to'em "someday". I like writing, reading, and I also cherish to learn to play the guitar someday...

14th April, 2005

It's kind of lame, writing blogs on weekends and holidays. Usually I write blogs when I'm at work, and when my brain needs a break from the Ms Office file traffic. Sometimes there's this specific memorable incident that I feel like entangling within the confines of my blog. Today was pohela boishakh, and I just read two blog entries from two of my long time buddies, dedicated to that topic! This motivated me to write my own version of pohelated boishakheted blog.

I once took a decision that I won't be using Banglish in this blog of mine. My other blog in AG is full of Banglish stuff. But today I feel like adding some Banglish twists here. What is, actually, the point in putting up silly restrictions on myself, just for the sake of it? Throughout my life, I restricted myself from doing a lot of things, and I used to think that those would bring good to me. Perhaps they did, but sometimes doubt strikes me.

Wow...that was some out of the world off topic paragraph! Last night, when I signed out of office, it was 10:45 PM, BDT. Damn I don't have a life. But I was not alone, I had 3 of my colleagues with me, too. One is our manger, who is the most hard working individual I have seen in my life. His boss, the deputy general manager, is so inconsiderate and ill mouthed! Anyways, the effect of the late working hours made me wake up at 11:30 AM. I got to bed at 12:50, after receiving a stupid phone call from the boss woman at 12:40. I know it's a new product launch, and things should smoothen up before the launch, but that was insane. She knew that we just came back from office, and naturally we were all exhausted. But no considerations, whatsoever. She was enjoying her time in the "dinner" dedicated towards the product launch, for which we shed a lot of blood and she spared a lot of foul language. Anywas...writing about job has no point and pisses me off.

I couldn't finish the writing above. Should I resume, or should I explain why I dedicated a full blog entry to General George S. Patton? Err...I don't actually have much to write about Pohela Boishakh this year. I slept upto 11:30, got up, took my bath, had panta bhaat with Ilish mach and shutki bhorta, then started playing some game in my PC. Later on, I took my sister to her college, the infamous VNC....cause she had some rehearsal. Left her there, and started walking idly. I thought about getting back home, but that'd be a huge injustice to the black fotua I had worn. I was really thirsty, and thought about getting a fountain coke...but before that, I called Afzal to know about the group's whereabouts. He said they're meeting up at Tushar's, and whether I could make it. I said I'm in Baily Road, and I'll be there in a jiffy. The "too much info" of me being in Baily Road gave my pals to speculate some romantic story. Hehe....somehow I resisted the coke appeal, and reached Tushar's.

The adda session was boring, and dull. I myself was tired like hell, due to the gruellous task of launching djuice within a very short time frame. The last 3 weeks was damn hard on me. The upto 11:30 AM sleep was not enough...so I kind of started dosing off then and there. Others were not acting differently as well, cause the buet boys already had their typical pohela boishakh patrol around DU and Buet. But somehow some of us were left out. Murshid was missing for two consequitive Friday adda sessions. He was in the hall for exam preparation.

Hmm...perhaps after the shortest adda session ever, I returned home at around 6:30. Nothing significant happened the rest of the day. Just a quotable corny joke from my dad at the dinner table--both fish and meat was served, and dad said that throughout the year you'll be having bits of fish and bits of meat, so no need to feel irritated :| Yeah it was a joke(!) pointed towards me and my sisters reluctance to eating fish.

That's my Pohela boishakh story. And yeah, Patton is cool :D

Hello there!

Your Pahela Baishakh story was kind'a cool. Specially the breakfast with Panta at home.. the culture has spread it seems.

There are mixed feelings about GP's djuice campaign among my friends. Some say it was too hype and it's the same wine in a new bottle. The fact that the invitation card for today & tomorrows concert at DWC are available with djuice kit is not known to many. Otherwise GP would get some more leverage. But again who cares! GP is ripping us with call charges anyway and I am not ready to downgrade my phone.

Keep on writing man!

Cheers.
