Took me almost 6 months to finish reading this book as I have been reading other books in between. It started off slow, and did not pick up a considerable amount of pace until reaching the second half of the book.

However, things got really interesting at that point, and I loved reading about Paulo's autobiographical account of travelling through Amsterdam, Istanbul and some other European cities.

Hippie is unlike any other Coelho book. Here, there is less preaching and or life advice--which can be good or bad, depending on the reader's expectations. I liked the change in narrative, and honestly speaking, the last few books I read were a bit repetitive.

Would have given an additional star if the introductory chapters were cut a bit short.

Rubber Soul -- A Perfect Classic Rock Album: Part 1

Rubber Soul was released a long, long time before I was born. I can only guess how excited and joyed the Beatle fans were after listening to this masterpiece.

It was the 6th album of The Beatles. Released in 3rd December, 1965 (UK), it became a runaway success. This was only their second album made up entirely with original songs, e.g. there were no cover songs in the album.

Starting with the hard hitting "Drive My Car", the album instantly takes the listeners to an unforgettable journey. It's the kind of song that needs two singers to sound perfect. While predominantly a McCartney song; it would never be perfect without the raspy voice of Lennon. So when Paul covered the song in 2008 at Live 8, he enlisted George Michael to fill in the big huge Yeti shoes of John Lennon. Now that George has passed, it has became another memorable moment in rock music's history.

As soon as Drive My Car fades out, a very different kind of song starts. It is Norwegian Wood, one of the finest examples of how eastern instruments can mesh in with western music. This is John's song, and each word in it screams his signature song writing style.

I once had a girl,
Oh should I say, she once had me

These are such simple, yet deeply meaningful words! Songwriting has lost its intrigue these days. I was going to quote a Nicki Minaj lyrics here, but I guess readers are already getting the idea.

আমার বড় মেয়ের স্কুল বন্ধ। ছোটটার এখনো স্কুলে যাওয়ার বয়স হয় নি। আমি সকালে অফিসে যাওয়ার সময় সাধারণত দুই জনেই ঘুমিয়ে থাকে।

কিন্তু আজকের দিনটি ব্যতিক্রম ছিল। দুইজনেই সকাল সকাল উঠে গিয়েছে।

বড় জন আবদার করলো, "বাবা নাস্তা বানিয়ে দাও"। নিজের জন্য একটা এগ এন্ড চিকেন সালামি বার্গার বানাচ্ছিলাম, ওর জন্যেও একটা বানিয়ে দিলাম। খেয়ে সে মহা খুশী। মায়ের জন্য কান্নাকাটি করছিল; ওদের মা আরো সকালে বের হয়ে যায়।

বার্গার পেয়ে তার মন ভালো হলো। কান্না বন্ধ। বোনের সাথে খেলা শুরু করলো।

জুতার ফিতা বাঁধছি, তখন ও ছোট একটা মোড়ানো কাগজের টুকরা নিয়ে আসলো। বলেঃ

"বাবা, তোমার মোবাইলের কভার আছে?

হ্যা আছে তো।

এই চিঠিটা নাও। মোবাইল কভারের ভেতরে রেখে দাও। অফিসে গিয়ে পড়বা।"

আমি একটু অবাক হলেও কাগজটা নিয়ে রেখে দিলাম জায়গা মত।

গাড়ী তে উঠে মোবাইল হাতে নিতে গিয় এমনে পড়লো চিঠির কথা। খুলতে গিয়েও খুললাম না। অফিসে গিয়ে পড়তে বলেছে তো!

নানা কারণে মন মেজাজ বিক্ষিপ্ত, রাস্তায়ও অনেক জ্যাম ছিল। অফিসে পৌছে ভুলেই গিয়েছিলাম চিঠির কথা।

হঠাত বের করে পড়লাম। লেখাটা পড়েই মনটা ভালো হয়ে গেলো।

বড় বড় করে লেখাঃ

"Have a good day".

"বাবা" শব্দটা যে শুধু একটা ডাক নয়, ছয় বছরের শিশুও যে বাবার জন্য চিন্তা করতে পারে, সেই ব্যাপারটি একটি পরাবাস্তব অনুভূতি।

আল্লাহ তুমি আমার সন্তানদের ভালো রেখ। ওদের সব গুলো দিনই যেন good day হয়, সেজন্য সব সময় দোয়া করি।
