Sunday Bloody Sunday!

Hehe that's actually a U2 song, but I am sure Bono has no idea about how bloody can a Sunday get. It always happens...Thursday's are bad, Sunday's are even worse. Lots of people enjoy weekends on Sundays, but for us, it's just the bloody beginning of the week.

I made some idiotic mistakes, and got bashed for'em. I know exactly how those mistakes could have been avoided, and this is making me uneasy.

I came at office early today, which has become a rarity nowadays. But it was fun in the morning. Not too many people around, and I kinda enjoyed my time.

That's an incomplete blog up there. I was so pissed off that I didn't wish to finish it off. Now I'm at home (I was at office then), Monday is approaching its last hour (it'll be 11 PM after 3 minutes), I am listening to good songs, and eating a refreshing, yet dubiously named fruit called "Bangi". This has got nothing to do with Bungee software, or Bungi jumping (if I have spelled the two things right). It's a melonish fruit, which is usually huge, and can feed a family multiple times.

A similar high serving fruit is the jackfruit, proudly termed as our national fruit. Kathal sounds much better than the dull Jackfruit. We don't even have people with that name, Jack. It always reminds me of teh (no I didn't wanted to write the) khekshial aka Jackal :D

When I first encountered Jackfruit, I was quite skeptical. I spent my early years in Saudi Arabia, where nobody could and or deliberately grew and or ate teh jackfruits. But I soon gave in to the sweet tasting fruit. Now I kind of love it. But I hate it when people prepares curry dishes using the seeds. You know...people takes the whole fruit inside the mouth, and then brings the seed out. Well, maybe that gets cleaned and boiled, but still it's yucky to cook that thing again. I hate it, and I never eat kathaler bichi.

Will write more later. Wanted to write about my childhood, but not now.

what kind of melon is the 'bangi'? i tried looking up in the internet but got confused. which one do you think it is? i love honeydew though. beshi joss ekta fruit. and watermelons too. watermelon juice is the best in the summer. after lebu shorbot that is. and i have always wondered what is the english name for 'chalta'. the bengali to english dictionary says it's some kind of edible acid fruit or its tree.

  3. It's probably the Persian one! that pic has the most similarity with Bangi. However, I think I once heard that it's honey dew...so now I am confused, too :s

surely not honeydew, cuz it's green and bangi is light peach in color.it also has a smooth skin and persian one has a netted skin. very confusing indeed. reading more on melons, i got to learn that gourd, pumpkins, cucumbers etc. are all from the melon family. you are welcome for thanking me for adding to your confusion. and yeah, you must haven seen silicon melons, right? :]
